Testing your download speed for best settings - Tip

This was posted to the OL Forum 16 March 2010 by Sakai in response to discussion about connection speeds and the manipulation of services by internet service providers in the US.

If you want to see what kind of speed you are able to get to Openlife's servers here's a test url.

It's a 16MB test file. (nothing useful in it). 

* IF you download this file and receive speeds of: 

< 128KB/ps - Adjust your speed settings in network preferences below 1000kbit 

< 256KB/ps - Adjust your speed settings in network prferences below 2000kbit 

< 384KB/ps - Adjust your speed settings in network preferences below 3000kbit 

> 384KB/ps - You can enjoy Openlife on max netowrk preferences setting 3000kbit
