These are prims which are assigned a specific function. This function is determined by a set of rules which the server is provided with.

What this means is that when a prim is named according to the specific SSO function it’s required for, it will behave according to the set of rules that function represents.

For example, if you want to sell a parcel of land on a private region, you can create a prim to handle the transaction. Simply by naming the prim for the Parcel Purchase behaviour it will allow the parcel to be purchased, transfer the ownership and allow the new owner to have access to the About Land window for the parcel.

Parcel Renewal (rental payments) can also be done the same way.

At the moment, the libary of available working SSO behaviours is very limited, but will grow with time. There are a number of them listed in the SSO section of this website.

More can be seen about SSOs on the OL website.

The following is the instruction to create a prim which will allow you to renew your region each month. It's a very simple process and will reflect almost immediately in your My Toolbox section of the website

  1. Rez a prim inworld
  2. Go to Edit and name it     SSO:Region.Renewal      (it's important that it's EXACTLY this)
  3. Click the box - and pay it
  4. The box will show you the payment information about your region
  5. Take the box back into your inventory.
  6. You can rez it any time to see the information.
  7. You can make another one the next month

These are used to sell land in Openlife. You cannot use these unless  you are the Estate Owner, so therefore you cannot use them on Mainland.

The method of selling parcels used in SL by using About Land to buy or sell does not work in OL.

Using an SSO is simple. Once you create it it’s easy for people to see the land is for sale, and deleting it after purchase does not cause any problems.

The SSO merely facilitates the transfer of the relevant amount of money, and accesses from one person to another.

Creating the SSO

  1. Create a prim on the parcel you wish to sell ( it has to be ON the parcel)
  2. In the Name field, type (or copy and paste) the following exactly -   SSO:Parcel.Purchase
  3. If you wish the parcel to be sold to a specific person you type into the Description field replacing “avatar name” with the person to whom you wish to sell the parcel -  Sell To:avatar name
  4. Click the Sell checkbox and put in the amount of money you wish to sell the land for.
  5. Click the Original radio button (as this is not the default, you have to make sure you do this.
  6. Texturise the outside of the prim with an appropriate texture that provides information to the buyer.
  7. For the texture to change to a “Sold” one on purchase, put that texture into the Contents window of the prim.

You can also put a notecard etc here as well and on purchase, the buyer will receive this.
